Trail Maintenance Seminar

Learn how to maintain a trail

Our local trails remain open and accessible only through the work of volunteers. Acting through their organizations and individually, these dedicated stewards donate thousands of hours building, repairing and maintaining much of what many hikers and trail users take for granted. At this seminar we will discuss, observe and learn what it takes to keep our local trails open, safe and inviting to all.

After an indoor discussion period we will move outdoors, rain or shine, to test our new knowledge by observing and discussing trail conditions likely to be encountered as a maintainer. Please dress appropriately and remember that this is not a work day!

This will be a morning of fun and learning, beginning at 9:30 and lasting until 12:30, after which lunch will be provided. And for those who wish, we can spend more time after lunch out on the trails at Harrison Hills Park. There is no charge for the program, but advance registration is required.

If you are a trail maintainer, please join us and share your knowledge and experience!
