Tree Planting Project

Tree Planting Project

Volunteer opportunity for the whole family!

This Saturday, June 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon in Smicksburg, PA, we are planting trees!

On the farm that hosts the Baker Trail UltraChallenge, we'll be planting hundreds of tree seedlings of different varieties. This is very kid-friendly. We'll provide the tools and the instructions. Bring gloves if you have them. No experience or reservations necessary. The region in which the farm resides is filled with gorgeous rolling hills and farmlands; amish buggies abound! Educational and fun for the whole family. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate to your kids the importance of giving back by way of volunteer work.

The tree seedlings are provided by the PA Game Commission as part of the Farm Cooperator Program.

Over the past three years, the farm has planted ~3,500 trees and bushes via the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Forest Stewardship Program.
